BBQ Fun

Thursday of this week I hosted a BBQ for four girlfriends from MOPS and my friend Aracely. All of our husbands are deployed right now. Within our group, we had three units represented- each unit had two of our husbands. Funny how it was divided into pairs! 

Between the six women, there were 11 kiddos and one on the way. Needless to say, it was a big group! It has been in the 90s all week so we filled up the kid pool, turned on a silly sprinkler (can't believe I didn't get pictures of it- it was a hit!), and let the kids run wild. 

I made pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches, broccoli salad, sliced strawberries, and strawberry lemonade for the adults. Mandy brought delicious cheesy potatoes. The kids had chicken nuggets, watermelon, carrots, and apple juice. We finished the evening with Laura K.'s delicious chocolate chip cookies.

We had a blast and it was so refreshing to be with other wives who are in the same situation. I am so grateful for the network of Army wives that I have and all the great friendships I have formed here in Clarksville. I will be genuinely sad to move when that day comes! 

Claire is flashing all of us because her swimsuit broke. It is supposed to be a halter but when she decided to try and drown in the pool, we grabbed her quickly and the snap broke. Given the situation, that was the least of my concerns ;)
