Good thing I practiced.
It was a disaster!
I will be buying box cake and box icing, or pre-made cupcakes.
She's one. She won't care.
Unless...
she may have a possible gluten issue.
Her GI biopsies came back and all looked super great,
except some kind of allergic reaction in her small intestine.
Dr is going to run a celiac blood panel today.
If it comes back positive, no birthday cake for her.
I think it will be harder for ME than Claire.
If it comes back negative, we go off of the assumption that it is a milk/soy protein allergy.
Gabe had (has?) this, so no need to do additional testing if the celiac one is fine.
Either way, I am looking forward to answers.
The girl that used to eat more than Gabe takes about two bites and quits these days.
Then she pukes. It's awesome.
Oh...
I gave her some of the real cake last night, just in case :)

Keep us updated on what comes back on the test. Oh and don't worry about her not being able to have cake, they make a gluten-free mix! :) Hope you find some answers soon!
thats interesting because celiac would traditionally come out the other end (ew, sorry). but you hit the nail on the head. its about finding answers so she doesn't have to feel sick anymore. And i'll give you all the GF tips out there. Betty crocker actually makes an awesome GF devils food cake mix. chris will actually eat it when i make cupcakes . . . as long as there is frosting:)
Sometimes less is more~~fondant may be overkill, when it comes to frosting! :-)
