Murphy's Law & Pictures Galore

It's almost given that when the guys leave, the house falls apart. You already heard about my phone taking a bath but here are a couple more examples...

Yesterday my vacuum caught on fire.

You read that right. My vacuum caught on fire.

Two weeks ago, our very nice vacuum broke. The wires connecting the hose to the canister totally snapped (apparently you shouldn't pull on it, who knew? ha) so we threw it out and brought in Aaron's old bachelor pad vacuum from the garage. It wasn't extremely powerful or nice, but it was in one piece and it did the basics so I planned to use it for a while.

I turned it on and went to work when I noticed it smelled funny. It didn't take long before the sound changed and sparks started flying. Awesome.

Today, Claire pulled her curtain rod out of the wall.

How? I have no clue. I do know that when I went in her room this morning, I saw a gaping hole in the wall. Awesome.

Now, I need to paint and patch three rooms in our house... it's a never ending process! Our kitchen is painted 3 colors right now: the nice, normal color, the color I thought was the nice, normal color and used to touch up some spots but actually turned out to be neon, and the blue paint from Gabe's room that splattered on the wall when he dropped the paint lid. Our master bath has two paint samples on the wall. Our living room needs touched up where the front door put a door handle hole in the wall.  B-l-a-h.

The good news is that bad things come in 3's and I'm counting that as our 3. Over it.

Moving on...

We had a fun, but busy, day. We spent the morning playing with friends and enjoying some outside time. This afternoon the kids both took great naps and I had some time to relax- really for the first time in a while. It was a great break but I'm paying for it now because my house is a disaster and is driving me nuts! Anyway, we ended the day with some play time outside where, believe it or not, daddy made an appearance and participated in the fun.

Be warned that if the blog wasn't already full of stuff you could care less about, it will be now since Aaron will be checking in as much as possible to get pictures and stories. He doesn't have access to Facebook and his Internet is really slow so it works best for him to get the pictures here. Sorry to the rest of you... all 2 of you that read this (including my mom.)

Love the pics! Isn't it so cool to see our kids just play with each other? I hope that things settle soon and you know that I'm always a call away. Love you very very much:)

Laura, I for one am glad to see you back on the blog a little more frequently. I love reading your funny stories (what is with you and appliances catching on fire!?) and seeing the pictures of you, Aaron and the kids. If you plan on making any trips to Lafayette while Aaron's gone, let us know. Maybe we can coordinate. ;)

I read! I was just looking into ordering a daddy doll last night, but they're kind of expensive...I should probably do it anyway. Thinking of you! :)

Love your blog and the daddy dolls. Your children are adorable!

Oh, and Lily's bed is from land of nod but I've seen really cute ones from walmart. The darker color Jenny Lind looks great for boys too. They would be great painted.
