Welcome & Updates

Welcome to our new blog! We moved addresses primarily to avoid using our last name, so if you link your blog to ours, please don't include any mention of our last name. We also wanted to remove our blog from the private side so that more of our friends and family could easily access it. This is all under the assumption that I'll actually blog more, ha! In return for providing you easier access, you promise to comment more right? It feels pretty weird to write to yourself...

In other news...

We find out on Wednesday the 21st if we are having a boy or a girl! If you've got a guess, put it here, and maybe I'll do something special for the winner. Pumpkin cookies, anyone? Aaron is convinced it is a girl, I think it's a boy, and my mom thinks it's a boy if that helps!

We close on our new house October 30th. I couldn't be more excited to be done with all the paperwork and home buying drama! Our intial inspection came back pretty good, but there were some minor cosmetic details that needed to be fixed (caulking, grout, etc.) We did have one big issue of concern, though. Our house sits on a crawl space and it has been raining a ton in TN. Well, not all of the water drained properly, leaving some puddles under the house that wound up causing some mold on our floor joists. Eek! So, the builder will hopefully have it fixed and cleaned up when we move in. We shouldn't have to deal with that while we live there- ever. We're having the house resinspected in a couple of weeks (before we close) to make sure it is truly fixed and not just a temporary solution.

I can't wait to get moved in, paint, and decorate. I'm so excited to actually have a place of our own! I've been buying new bedding for Gabe's big boy room (WHAT? Is he really that old?), new bedding and decorations for Aaron and I's room, gathering ideas for the living room and bonus room, and buying new supplies for the kitchen. I'll put up before and after pictures once we're settled. I think it deserves a separate post!

In all of my home decorating excitement, I've started planning for/stocking up on Christmas supplies. I'm not decorating for fall this year (since Aaron won't arrive at the house until Thanksgiving Day) and am instead going straight to Christmas. Mom and I made my first wreath today and I LOVE it. I think it looks great. I'm considering making some to sell at craft fairs next year!

Here's a similar before picture, a plain wreath with pinecones:

Here are my after pictures, with an additional picture of my cute wreath hanger:
