2010

Happy 2010!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
-Romans 15:1

so the hat was just a little big...

Last night Gabe fell asleep early (before 8!), I was asleep not long after, and Aaron fell asleep around 11:30. Right when Aaron passed out, Gabe woke up. I couldn't fall back to sleep after he went down again (11:45) so I was officially up for midnight this year... woohoo! This was the first NYE I actually was up at midnight in years. I didn't turn on the TV and watch the ball drop, though. Does that make me lame? Anyway, moving on...

In a lot of ways, I'm really glad to have 2009 behind us! It was a tough year for Aaron and I and our marriage. I guess you could say we had some growing pains :) I'm sure it didn't help with all the time we spent apart due to the Army. I feel like we're finally on solid ground again and we've been given a fresh start.

Our goals for this year are relatively simple: stay healthy, happy, and draw closer to God. As part of our "stay healthy and happy" pledge we just joined the YMCA. This is mostly for Gabe and I. I really wanted to do something that would get me out of the house and get Gabe some interaction with other kids. I am very blessed to be able to stay at home, but going to the church nursery 1x a week just wasn't enough interaction for this busy little boy. He is very wary of strangers and other kids, so I'm hoping this will help. We're planning on doing swimming lessons Mondays for 1/2 hour, and then Wednesday and Friday I will go work out and take him to the daycare. After the new baby is born, we'll take a hiatus until she is vaccinated, and then head back for tumbling, yoga, and exercise! We got Aaron a membership too so that we can all go to the pool together on cold or rainy Saturdays.

Another activity we are joining is MOPS. I've heard great things about the program and I'm really excited to get going on it. Now if I could just find a women's Bible study we'd be set :) Here's to 2010, a new baby, a new home and city, a great family, and God being glorified in our lives every day!
