Nashville Zoo

The week before Christmas saw middle Tennessee with warmer-than-average temperatures. I'm not sure what happened to that weather, as it is now about 20 degrees below average but whatever. Anyway, on one of the 50+ degree days, we decided to take a little trip to Nashville and check out the zoo.

daddy & Gabe learning about the animals

the biggest play area I've ever seen... this is about 1/3 of it

running across moats & fighting off alligators...
all in a day's work.

Gabe got to see elephants;

we got to see him be cute as ever.

He also tried to hide in forests of bamboo...

and escape from mommy's arms (an easy task when he is stronger than I am already!)

He loved the "dats" as he calls them.

We ended our trip with a stop by the petting zoo. Gabe loved getting to pet the goats... until this one HEADBUTTED HIM! No joke, it sent Gabe on his toosh. Aaron and I, being the responsible parents we are, sat there stunned for a few seconds and then burst into laughter. It was pretty funny, since he wasn't hurt at all!

I have a feeling the zoo will be seeing a lot more of us this summer!
