April 18 is the March of Dimes walk in Nashville.
(They have the walks all over the country. You should check if there is one near you.)
I am participating. In fact, I'm the captain of our team.
It is called "Claire's Champions" in honor of our sweet Claire.
March of Dimes is an organization that raises money for research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies the opportunity to begin healthy lives. Money is also used to provide comfort and information for families with babies in the NICU, or newborn intensive care unit.
This is especially important to Aaron and I as Claire was born at 35 weeks and I went into premature labor at 34 weeks. We don't know what caused my body to signal that it was time for Claire to arrive. It puts us and our future babies at risk.
We were lucky that Claire only had minor complications. It could've been a lot worse, and for many families it is. There's nothing more heartwrenching than watching a little one suffer.
Please, consider donating to the March of Dime. You can do so here: March of Dimes or on the right side of the blog.
At the very least, please say a prayer for healthy babies and moms everywhere.
Thank you.
